Health Disparities

This guide is an introductory list to help locate research materials at the Rowland Medical Library. Health disparities refer to the differences in the incidence, prevalence, mortality and burden of diseases that exist among specific demographic groups as defined by age, gender, race, education or income, disability, living in rural localities or underdeveloped areas or having same sex orientation. Health disparities exist when a specific group bears a disproportionate share of negative health outcomes (disease, disabilities and death) compared to the general population. The listed resources cover health disparities in the United States and do not encompass  library resources on global health disparities.
