Alzheimer's Disease
This guide is an introductory list to help locate research materials at the Rowland Medical Library. Alzheimer’s disease is a neurological condition in which the nerve cells in the brain die. Alzheimer’s disease is most common in individuals who are over 65; however, it can also occur in people much younger. As the disease advances, intellectual abilities, thinking, judgment, personality, motor activities, and language are affected. The cause of Alzheimer's is unknown and there is no cure. Scientist are working to develop new drugs to prevent the disease, slow the progression of the disease, or help reduce the symptoms of the disease.
