Americans with Disabilities Act

This guide is an introductory list to help locate research materials at the Rowland Medical Library. In 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law (PL 101-336). The ADA covers employment as well as access to public services and accommodations.  The ADA's protections apply to an individual with a "disability."  As defined by the ADA, a "disability" is a physical or mental impairment that limits one or more of the major life activities of an individual, a record of such an impairment, or being regarded as having such an impairment.
